Elias Painting was awarded a vital role in the January 2025 restoration of St. John’s Church, a cornerstone of Central City’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage. This project aims to preserve the church’s architectural beauty and honor the legacy of the immigrant ancestors who built it.

Saint John’s Restoration 2025

St. John’s Church has been a symbol of faith and community for over a century. When Central City celebrated its 75th anniversary, it chose the images of its churches to grace the cover of its commemorative book, highlighting the town’s deep spiritual roots.

Churches tell the story of the immigrants who left their homelands only to face immense hardships as they created new lives here in Central City. These brave men and women found solace in their faith and comfort in sharing their cultural traditions all within the walls of St. John’s.

This project will address the church’s structural and aesthetic aspects to ensure its preservation for future generations. It will restore the intricate details of the church’s architecture and contribute to the creation of a new mural in the vestibule.  At Elias Painting, we are known for our expertise in historical restoration and will serve as a critical partner.

The new mural will be the crown jewel of this restoration. It depicts the journey of faith from the old world to the new, celebrating the resilience and devotion of the church’s early members. It will serve as a visual testament to the enduring legacy of St. John’s and its community.

You can support this meaningful project through donations, as they are raising funds for the restoration.

If you are unable to donate, sharing this video is a great way to get involved.
