Using these factors and design expertise they are able to create several color palettes. For their ColorMix Forecast. 2021 Sherwin-Williams had a lot of things to weigh, aside from fashion, style and design trends, the pandemic paired with an election year has tweaked consumer trends.

Each year, the color forecast embodies a theme. The 2021 theme is Rhythm of Color. Inspired by the fluidity of rhythm moving all things around us. “The same sense of balance applies to our personal sense of nature through how we live – and how we design.” With rhythm in mind, their team explored 40 color trends to create 4 color palettes.

SANCTUARY – Back to nature

The sanctuary palette was designed with biophillia in mind, since so many people are heading outdoors in search of some peace and quiet. Biophilia is the practice of bringing nature inside. These colors create an atmosphere of calming and wellness. The sanctuary palette was inspired by cozy chic, Scandinavian design. Muted earth tones can add to elegance and minimalism to your home.

ENCOUNTER – Layers of Local Character

If you prefer rich earth tones, the encounter palette is inspired by modern bohemian styles. These tones are organic, but they are still vibrant. Encounter was inspired by culture and artisan craft, creating an eclectic mix in your interior design.

CONTINUUM – An Ethereal Spectrum

Inspired by smart technology trends, the continuum palette mixes synthetic and natural colors. Many of us are working from home and surrounded by technology. So, why not create an aesthetic to accompany the ever popular smart trends? The mix of colors on this palette will allow you to design a space full of innovation and optimism with sculptural modernism.
